Health Identify Training Module for NES
Below is an email from the Ministry of Health with information regarding the Health Identity Training Module for NES which will go live on 1 March 2016.
You can create an account with the MOH LearnOnline along with any of your Administration or Reception staff where you will be able to complete the Health Identity and cultural competency modules, with modules to be added in the future. Completing any training will be useful for Foundations Standard certification and Cornerstone accreditation. Following completion certificates are generated for all that pass. Some Practice Managers have already tested these two modules and offered them to their administration staff and feedback has been positive.
“The online training course for PHO and practice staff working with health identity through NES is available to access.
I am circulating this link to PHO Champions now so they can familiarise themselves with the package prior to the national rollout. It will be an expectation of all practice staff working with NES to complete the course prior to implementation of NES in their practice. This is part of a package that will also include a FAQ sheet for enrolment and the release notes from vendors for the NES upgrade itself. The FAQ sheet and release notes will be circulated at a date to be confirmed during February.
If you can familiarise yourself with the course over the next 1 - 2 weeks it will assist in the subsequent rollout of NES. There are specific instructions for accessing the course below as the Learnonline site has its little quirks.
Instructions for logging into Learnonline to access the Health Identity training module.
The training package for working with health identity data through the National Enrolment Service is available through the Ministry’s online learning website Learnonline (learonline.health.govt.nzor http://www.learnonline.health.nz/).
Anyone wishing to access the course will need to register as a user with Learnonline (assuming they have not already done so, but for most PHOs and practices this won’t be the case). The course is visible as a featured course on the site but you won’t be able to access it until after you have completed registration.
The registration link is at top right of the homepage and at first glance looks more like a search box. If you click on the sign up link and work through the details you will be sent a confirmation email that you will need to click on to confirm. This confirmation email can sometimes take a few minutes to show up so bear with it.
Once you have confirmed you should be able to refresh the Learnonline screen and continue on to the course.
IMPORTANT NOTE: you will need to disable your pop-up blocker prior to accessing the course otherwise it won’t work properly. There are instructions on how to do this in the right hand columnof the Learnonline homepage”.
