I have worked in General Practice since 1999. Like many others, I was originally employed as a receptionist and took on the role as Practice Manager in 2001. I am currently employed in a busy urban practice in Nelson.
Over the years, my role as a practice manager has led me to hold various other roles within the health sector. These include being a Cornerstone Assessor, in the infancy of the accreditation process and being a representative on both a PHO Clinical Governance Committee and a PHO board. I really enjoy learning and sharing knowledge with other practice managers and health professionals. I am passionate about primary care and providing a quality service to patients. I have gained a lot from being a PMAANZ member, and have experienced great personal growth in my time on the executive committee.
I am fortunate to be employed by a fabulous group of doctors who truly appreciate and recognise the role of a Practice Manager. My hope for the future of PMAANZ is for us to continue to promote the value of Practice Managers and for all managers to be given the opportunity to be members of our association.
