My name is Kay Brittenden. I have been married to Jerry for 35years; we have two adult children with blended families which gives us 8 grandchildren. I have lived in Northland all of my life.

My career spans 20 years of nursing and 5years teaching computers and 10 years of Management. I have worked for 8 years in my current position as Practice Manager for Bush Road Medical Centre. We have 11,500 enrolled patients, 9 doctors and 30 staff. My role is one of a CEO.

During earlier years I was very involved in local and national politics. I have held the following positions; elected member of the District Health Board, District Council and a candidate for the national elections.

All of this experience gives me the following skills; the ability to work within a team environment, meeting etiquette, problem solving, communication skills, multitasking, time management etc. 

My personal attributes are; my values, honesty, integrity, confidence, ability to listen and weigh up the situation, my commitment to family, friends and work.

The Health sector has always been my passion and it has treated me well over the years and so I see being on the executive committee as a chance of giving back some of the experience and abilities I have gained over the years.
